IDF - SLP (STUDENT LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME)Indian Development Foundation (IDF) organizes a training workshop for school students. The programme, Student Leadership Programme (SLP) is a 16-hour power-packed programme. Every Saturdays for 8 weeks for 2 hours each. 7 days of life-skill training and the eighth day is for certificate presentation to all the students.
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME - Student Leadership Programme (SLP) Student days are the most important part of upbringing in one’s life. The syllabus/ activities which are important aspect of the curriculum leave a vacuum for the development of certain qualities. These qualities form to be very influential in framing the personality of the student and demands equal share of concentration and efforts. Indian Development Foundation (IDF) has been constantly supporting and striving for the development of the students. For this, IDF has developed a training programme to focus on the basics and qualitative skill development. The course will focus on the development of the student’s traits which would lead them to be well-versed and informed. IDF wants every student to be a better individual. The students would be trained by the corporate employees/ PG students and Trainers who have volunteered for the SLP. IDF will train the volunteers who will be called as Mentors. Project SLP is an offering by IDF for student development and there is no financial implication of any sort. Each class of 40-50 students will have 3 Mentors as their trainers. =============================================== APPEAL TO VOLUNTEERS - MENTORS Indian Development Foundation (IDF) launched Student Leadership Programme (SLP) - training leadership skills among students in different schools in Mumbai. Students will be mostly drawn from aided/ unaided/ municipal schools. The first pilot project with 50 students was launched in Mumbai during the academic year 2013-14. Looking at the success, the team scaled it up to 10 schools during 2014-15 and churned out 500 student leaders. During academic year 2015-16, we aim to cross 10,000 student leaders and with the overwhelming response from the mentors/ volunteers, we are confident of surpassing our target. Your volunteering will help us in reaching out the needy. Your friends who have passion in teaching students are also welcome to join hands with us and strengthen SLP. We at IDF want to encourage more people to be volunteers so as to be part of this national movement. Volunteers Involvement - 2 hours on every Saturdays The teaching sessions will be only on Saturdays for two hours and the location will be closer to the volunteer's place of stay/ work or volunteer's choice. Training of volunteers to Mentors The volunteers will be trained in two/ three sessions and they will be called Mentors. The mentors will be later assigned the task in different schools which will be co-ordinated by IDF. The school project will be closer to the Mentor's location to save travel time. The programme in schools will start once Mentors and Schools authorities have mutually agreed. It will be for class VIII students only. One batch of 50 students will be for 8 Saturdays - 2 months.
